INTEGRATED GLOBAL SOLUTION FOR CONTAINER TRACKING

Abstract

The paper describes present research in the field of integrated global solution for container tracking. The aim of the research is to create a web portal – Integrated Information System (includes EDI from logistics providers), which provides complex information about position of containerized cargo within global logistics chain. Sailing matrix will be created based on information about services (sailings, departures, arrivals) of various logistics providers. Each service in sailing matrix (theoretical model) will be compared to hard data received from historical shipments. So far unknown patterns in behaviour of customers among logistic chains will be described based on customers’ preferences.
