Abstract

Recently, the need for wider use of energy from renewable sources and low-carbon fuels in individual transport systems resonates more and more intensively in the institutions and bodies of the EU. The author provides an overview of the legislative standards governing the decarbonisation process in the conditions of the maritime and inland water transport sector and points out the pitfalls on the way to greening, to building a blue economy and climate neutrality with regard to the health and life quality of people who live near waterways or ports.
