Abstract

The article deals with the problem of increasing of the accuracy of giving position in the GPS receiver without its connection to ground infrastructure of differential GPS. It describes the principals of improving the accuracy of GPS position using EGNOS service (European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service). Furthermore the article deals with the principles of giving position during short-time dropouts of GPS signal using sensors based on MEMS technology (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems). Giving a more precise position is documented with the evaluating of carried out experiments at the end of the article.
