APPLICATION OF RISK MANAGEMENT IN THE PROTECTION OF ELEMENTS OF TRANSPORT INFRASTRUCTURE

Transport infrastructure is a complex of elements that are interconnected by interconnections so that they can cover all the required functions. Due to its importance, the transport infrastructure was included among the sectors of critical infrastructure in Act no. 45/2011 Coll. on critical infrastructure. The transport infrastructure includes objects that can be included among the elements of critical infrastructure. The protection of critical infrastructure objects should be a priority, as their destruction or possible disruption could disrupt the functioning of the transport infrastructure (Act no. 45/2011 Coll.). Risk management can be applied to ensure the protection of traffic elements included in critical infrastructure. The application of risk management requires knowledge of the ISO 31000 standard, which is an effective tool for the identification, evaluation, analysis, and, subsequently, risk management itself. The results obtained using a risk management application can take the protection of critical infrastructure traffic elements to a higher level. The aim of the article is to analyze information sources dealing with the issue and the subsequent application of risk management to the transport element, which can be considered as a potential element of critical infrastructure.
