POSSIBILITIES OF INCREASING OF TRANSHIPMENT OF BULK CARGO IN PORTS

Transhipment activities belong to the main activities of ports. Increasing the amount of dry bulk cargo destined for water transport leads to the need for increased port transhipment activity. For this reason, more efficient transhipment facilities are being used in ports. Information about these devices and their initial comparison using SWOT analysis provide a closer look at the possibilities of their use. By making the right decision, a port can increase its transhipment capacity, but improper use can cause problems that the port will have to face in the future. Therefore, the aim of this article is to contribute to the awareness of available methods and, based on an initial analysis, to inform the reader about the effective deployment options of these transhipment facilities in ports and terminals.
