Abstract

The article analyzes the vibration of the truck powertrain with the 8x8 drive caused by the rotation of the deflected shaft. The aim of the solution was to reduce vibration therefore an analytical transient computational model for the shaft deflection calculation was created. Results obtained from this model were compared with simulations using a 3D computational model of the shaft which uses the finite element method - FEM. To validate computational models, measurements of shaft deflections and directional vibrations were performed. In conclusion, the results are evaluated for old and new version of the powertrain.
