Abstract

Integration of the European railway network leads to important changes and
demands good operating transport system on international and national level. There
is necessary implementation these changes into the transport policy in Slovak
republic. The transport policy within EU aspires to the market harmonization and
liberalization nowadays. These elementary aims can be successful only in the case
of equal economic competition. The article deals with support of the railway
transport in Europe, describes railway infrastructure in the Slovak republic,
parameters and possibilities of financing.
